About GOBSMACKED
GOBSMACKED is an ever-evolving solo project created by artist, producer, and manager Justin McMillan.
Since its inception in 2019, GOBSMACKED has garnered attention with its bold sound, innovative approach to music and intriguing lyrics. The project kicked off with the critically acclaimed debut EP RASCAL.
In 2024, GOBSMACKED expanded into a dynamic live band, now featuring bassist Lauren Maddison. Together, they bring a high-energy performance to local stages in Brighton and the surrounding areas.
GOBSMACKED's sound blends post-punk and rock influences, infused with cutting-edge music technology and a DIY ethos, creating an exciting fusion of gritty, experimental energy.

About Justin McMillan
Born in Belfast, Justin debuted his interest in writing, recording and releasing music when he released his first EP in 2019, under the name ‘GOBSMACKED’. His EP ‘RASCAL’ surpassed 30,000 streams within the first 4 months of its release and currently stands at over 80,000 streams in 2025.
Justin performed and placed second in the Young At Art busking competition at Jordanstown University in 2019.
Before reaching the online demographic during the pandemic, Justin had been performing since 2017 in multiple venues, festivals and a performance on BBC Radio Ulster.
After the 2019 December release of ‘RASCAL’, unable to perform because of the pandemic, in 2020 GOBSMACKED cultivated an online audience of mainly alternative 18-25 year olds worldwide.
Justin moved to Brighton in 2023, and soon GOBSMACKED was revived. Taking things further and performing with a live band, formed in 2024, that currently consists of bassist (Lauren Maddison)
